A Great British Odyssey

Fears are the official timekeeping partner to the Great British Odyssey world record attempt.

A Great British Odyssey will see ultra-endurance athlete, Angus Collins, attempt to be the first person to ever solo row unsupported around the mainland of Great Britain. 

Despite numerous attempts down the years, this incredible feat of endurance and British adventure has eluded those who've tried before.

The challenge will commence around the 1st of June 2025, and will see Angus solo row in a specially designed and custom-built boat for up to 18 hours a day.

Angus has already broken several world records (across the Indian, Pacific and Atlantic oceans) and is heralded as one of the most successful ocean rowers of our time.

Experimental 01

The Fears EXPERIMENTAL 01 is the first tool watch we have created since the 1970s and has been specially engineered to be put through the most extreme conditions.

To create the EXPERIMENTAL 01, the in-house Fears Design and Engineering team built a new specification based on the architecture of our robust and much-loved Brunswick 40.

This watch is the toughest that Fears has ever made to date and demonstrates our technical prowess (rather than just a penchant for elegance).

The EXPERIMENTAL 01 and its components have been through several months of advanced testing to ensure the watch will perform whilst on Angus' wrist.


The Mission

The ultimate mission of this challenge is to raise £250,000 for James' Place, a charity who help men in suicidal crisis find hope for the future.

This is a cause and a charity with great personal meaning and significance to both Angus and Nicholas, so anyone who is able to we would encourage to make a contribution.
