Brunswick 40 'Silver Noir'

The Brunswick 40 'Silver Noir' is the companion piece to the '1846 Edition' that will be exclusively available from the upcoming British Watchmakers' Day event in London.
Due to the overwhelming demand for the '1846 Edition', we decided it was only right that we offer an alternative option for those who cannot attend British Watchmakers' Day in person.

The Brunswick 40 'Silver Noir' will not be made publicly available, and will only be offered to those on the '1846 Edition' waitlist (and thus we appreciate your discretion when it comes to this private offering).
This will be a time-limited order window so don't hesitate if you wish to secure one.
CASE
Graceful and complex, the curvaceous Brunswick silhouette takes its inspiration from a gentleman’s cushion case watch in the Fears archives, first made in 1924.
The 'Silver Noir's elegant 40mm cushion-shaped case has no flat surfaces, with even the solid case back having a gentle sweep. This special edition is made from solid Sterling Silver and crafted entirely from this understated metal, the case’s glancing curves are machined from 925 Sterling Silver with a deep polish all over, highlighting the beauty and radiance of the metal.
The case and the solid caseback each bear hallmarks from the London Assay Office, and, following a Fears tradition, our company's registered makers mark comprise the initials of the Managing Director when the watch was built (in this case: ‘NBS’ for our (4th) Managing Director, Nicholas Bowman-Scargill).
The bespoke silver ‘onion’-shaped winding crown has fine grooves that catch the light, adding a touch of radiance to the edge of the case. This crown is set with a diamond (which on a Fears watch signifies a case made entirely from a precious metal).
DIAL
Multiple layers of hand-polished black lacquer make up this dial inspired by Edwin Fear's original 1846 pocket watch. It's dual-section enamel-style construction offers depth and clarity which is then accentuated by a large recessed sub-seconds.
The Fears makers mark, alongside this set of Roman numerals, are a recreation of how they appeared on dials in the late-1840s when Fears was first established.
HANDS
The Brunswick 40 'Silver Noir' spade-shaped hands have been coated in a Rhodium plating and are a homage to those found in the Fears Archive from Edwin Fear's original pocket watch in 1846 and onwards.
MOVEMENT
The Brunswick 40 'Silver Noir' is powered by a new calibre from La Joux-Perret - the Swiss-made, manual winding, LJP G121M movement. This movement is the top-grade version, with an impressive 60-hour power reserve.
The architecture positions the seconds mechanism further from the centre of the dial which allows in this execution for an enlarged sub-seconds (echoing that of the pocket watches it's inspired by).
STRAP
The Brunswick 40 'Silver Noir' is fitted with a handmade Raven Black strap crafted from Buffalo leather (sourced from the Himalayas), lending a more sophisticated feel to the watch. This premium leather is some of the strongest and most durable available.
This leather has been tanned in the same way it has been for centuries, using organic materials (and not modern techniques that utilise chemicals). It is not stretched during the tanning process, so is thicker more hard-wearing as a result.
Lined in genuine Alcantara® dyed a deep shade of blue, this lining is supremely soft against the skin yet resistant against wear. The Brunswick is designed to fit all of the straps in our range, which you can easily fit yourself without tools.
The strap is fastened by a bespoke and matching hallmarked sterling silver pin buckle.
INDIVIDUALLY NUMBERED
Each watch we make carries a unique serial number. Engraved between the 20mm lugs at 12 o’clock, this number helps us identify your watch and its history.
AMOS BOX
All Fears watches are presented in a slim, rectangular, wooden box made of solid ash and stained in our bespoke shade of blue. This luxury box was inspired by traditional slim Fears watch boxes used in the past, in which the watch lies flat. Recognising the company's heritage, we called this box the Amos, after the names of both the 2nd and 3rd Managing Directors.
The top of the box is discreetly engraved with the Fears logo and features a gentle bevel around its edges, whilst the interior is lined in genuine cream suede. The box is secured by a polished chrome push button, keeping your watch safe and secure.

All Fears wristwatches purchase directly from the Fears Watch Company Limited and Authorised Fears Stockists come with a Fears Guarantee (the ‘Guarantee’). The Guarantee is valid for two years from the original date of purchase as recorded in the Fears WatchBook issued with your Fears watch. Any claims made under the Guarantee require proof of purchase and sight of the Fears WatchBook. In the first instance a fault with the Fears watch will be repaired free of charge or, if the watch is not able to be repaired, it will be replaced with a Fears watch of a similar model.
The Guarantee covers defects in materials or mechanical failure of the case, crystal (glass), watch movement, dial, and hands during the two-year period.
The Guarantee does not cover:
- defects in materials of the strap or buckle;
- pre-owned watches not sold directly by the Fears Watch Company Limited or by an Authorised Fears Stockist;
- damage due to general wear and tear and ageing of the watch;
- damage due to abnormal storage;
- damage due to the watch not being operated in accordance with the user instructions;
- damage caused by normal use, accidents or misuse; damage caused by contact with moisture or water; or
- any alterations or repairs conducted by anyone other than Fears or those recommended by Fears.
To ensure the reliable running of your Fears watch for years to come, please do not engage anyone other than Fears or those recommended by Fears to conduct servicing, repair, or engraving. The Guarantee becomes void in the event of servicing, repair, or engraving by any person other than Fears or those recommended by Fears.
The Guarantee does not in any way affect your rights against Fears nor any other mandatory statutory rights you may have.
