The Redcliff 39.5 'Endurance Specification' is Fears' first modern tool watch that embraces modern sportiness and offers a new level of robust capability whilst still retaining the elegance and sophistication that makes a Fears' timepiece.

  • Case: 39.5mm, 316L stainless steel, frosted and hardened to 2,000 HV - 9x harder than regular stainless steel (DLC finish for the; crown, bezel and caseback), 20mm lug width
  • Dial: Carbon black, textured finish, stepped minute track, white and orange printing with moulded X2 Grade SuperLumiNova®
  • Strap: Black FKM rubber (w/ orange stitching), deployant clasp (w/ matching frosted DLC finish)
  • Movement: LJP G100, time and date, automatic, 68hr power reserve
  • Water Resistance: 150 metres (15 ATM)

CASE

The Redcliff 39.5 'ES' is housed in a contemporary round case with integrated lugs alongside a screw-down case back, bezel and crown that spans 39.5mm in diameter yet with a case thickness of only 9.98mm.

Each part of the case (including the buckle) have first been frosted before undergoing a special hardening treatment to achieve an uprated 2,000 Vickers (9x the hardness of standard 316L Stainless Steel) that renders this Fears' tool watch practically indestructible. The most exposed components (bezel, crown and exhibition caseback) have also been given a DLC (Diamond-Like Carbon) coating to further enhance durability and scratch-resistance.

DIAL

The Redcliff 39.5 'ES' features one of the most complex dials Fears have ever produced. Expertly made in Germany, this multi-level dial with an steeply angled rehaut and sunken central section finished in a carbon black anti-glare texture with white and orange printing.

At 3 o’clock a date window is cut into the dial revealing a colour-matched date disc featuring numerals in our own bespoke ‘Edwin’ typeset. The window itself features a shallow bevel running around all four sides to aide legibility whilst reading the date and gives the optical illusion of it appearing larger.

The baton indexes are crafted from a moulded X2-Grade Super-LumiNova blocks (the newly released top grade) that have been meticulously hand-applied to the dial and offer a significantly longer and more pronounced glow.

As with the rest of the Redcliff collection, the 12 o'clock index also features a subtle reference to another great Bristolian historical reference (the shape and form of the towers that hoist the famous Clifton Suspension Bridge).

HANDS

The Redcliff 39.5 'ES' features distinctive ‘Fears’-shaped hands that have the same X2-Grade Super-LumiNova set inside. The minute and hour hands are finished in a white matte paint with a contrasting orange matte painted seconds hand.

MOVEMENT

The Redcliff 39.5 'ES is powered by a customised Swiss-made, automatic La Joux-Perret G100 movement. Winding itself when worn on the wrist this movement features a quick-set date, a generous power reserve of 68 hours and a decorated winding rotor.

STRAP

The Redcliff 39.5 'ES' is fitted to an FKM rubber strap in Carbon Black (finished with a vivid orange contrast stitching) moulded to look like it's woven. The application of FKM rubber retains the classic aesthetic of sailcloth whilst modernising the feel and durability which results in a strap that is supremely comfortable but also extremely hard-wearing.

Lined in a waterproof rubber and is finished with a bespoke dual trigger deployant buckle engraved with the Fears cypher that has been treated to same frosting, hardening and DLC coating as the case middle.

Customise

You can customise your Redcliff 39.5 with any strap designed for a 20mm lug width, including any strap from our range, which you can easily fit yourself without tools.

    INDIVIDUALLY NUMBERED

Each watch we make carries a unique serial number. Engraved between the 20mm lugs at 12 o’clock, this number helps us identify your watch and its history.

    AMOS BOX

All Fears watches are presented in a slim, rectangular, wooden box made of solid ash and stained in our bespoke shade of blue. This luxury box was inspired by traditional slim Fears watch boxes used in the past, in which the watch lies flat. Recognising the company's heritage, we called this box the Amos, after the names of both the 2nd and 3rd Managing Directors.

The top of the box is discreetly engraved with the Fears logo and features a gentle bevel around its edges, whilst the interior is lined in genuine cream suede. The box is secured by a polished chrome push button, keeping your watch safe and secure.
